Contemporary Challenges in Corporate Governance

Contemporary Challenges in Corporate Governance

Co-hosted with Madden Center for Value Creation, symposium on contemporary challenges in corporate governance will cover important new work on today’s challenges in corporate governance. Each session will feature a panel of experts and an opportunity for the audience to ask questions. Each panel will be followed by small breakout discussion groups where you’ll have the opportunity to raise questions on how to advance your own research in this area. This program of the symposium was conceptualized and created by Siri Terjesen, who also organized a pannel on effective Diversity, Equity and Inclusion initiatives, with the participation from  Dr. Joan Heminway (University of Tennessee), and Dr. Aaron Hill (University of Florida). This panel focuses on the effectiveness of Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI) initiatives, as they are being implemented around the world with varying degrees of government involvement. It will explore the arguments for and against DEI initiatives; how current DEI initiatives impact firm performance; and how successful common DEI initiatives are at addressing the measure(s) of diversity within firms.
