Experiments in Soleto

There was no better opportunity to present our experimental study “Heuristics and Signals: Experimental Evidence on Information and Wage Discrimination” than at the Summer School & Workshop on Experimetrics & Behavioral Economics in Soleto!

In our experiment, we investigated how access to individual productivity information influences managers’ wage allocation strategies — and whether it helps reduce gender-based statistical discrimination. Our findings show that performance-based data can indeed mitigate misallocation, though the effect varies depending on the task type.

We are deeply grateful for all the insightful questions, thoughtful feedback, and inspiring comments – they were incredibly valuable and motivating for the next stages of our research.
